Sports photograph with a disabled athlete
This image was shot for Access magazine, a publication focused on disability issues. We shot numerous covers with different models to cover a whole range of angles from a glossy corporate look through to this gritty sports image. The key thing for me was to show off that amazing leg, I’m told it cost over £16,000, so the crouching position was great for this.
I added the ground texture and smoke in post production to give the background some subtle interest. The background and all black Nike clothing made a good match for the technology of the artificial leg and gave the final image a futuristic feel that I really liked.
