Norwegian Wood poster design

This is my entry to the Norwegian Wood poster design competition on Don’t Panic.

The film is based on the original book by Haruki Murakami and is due to come out in the UK in March.

I wanted to create a poster that stood out amount the hundreds of ‘standard’ looking film posters in the competition. The red and green (as used on the original book covers) are overlaid so that they jar and conflict with each other, much like the thoughts in Toru’s mind (the lead character in the filim). The two panels are in stark contrast to each other, echoing the personalities of Naoko and Midori (the two many female characters).
